Farmers Market Manager Role
Market Dates & Hours:
Wednesdays, June 3rd - September 23rd, 3PM - 6PM
The Market Manager will help to oversee the planning and execution of the Sandwich Farmers Market, ensuring smooth operations and effective coordination between vendors, volunteers, and the organizing team. The Market Manager will play a key role in fostering a thriving and successful market, ensuring strong collaboration between all involved parties while maintaining direct communication with the organizing team.
Key Responsibilities:

Primary Point of Contact – Act as the main contact for vendors, non profits, musicians, customers and volunteers addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive market experience through email and in person communications.

In season coordination of musicians, music sponsorship and non-profit highlights, as necessary.

Stay up to date on Farmers Market social media posts. Work with Social Media Manager as necessary.

Market Set-up & Breakdown - Manage all tasks necessary for daily market operations including, but not limited to: setting up flags for vendors, act as point person for any vendor questions about their space or set-up logistics, set up of signage, music station, tables & chairs, and info tent.

Volunteer Coordination - coordinate and any all volunteers available to help with the set up/take down processes.

Info Tent Management – Stay stationed at the info tent for the duration of the market. Be available to answer any questions from vendors or patrons. Manage any donations or raffles as applicable.

Vendor Fee Collection – Collect weekly vendor fees and ensure all vendors are paid to date for market weekly fees. Fees will be given to the market team at the end of each market. Collect MWVeg coupons or snap from vendors as applicable.

Flexibility & Adaptation – Remain open to working closely with the organizing team as the market unfolds, adapting responsibilities and strategies to support the market’s evolving needs and ensure its long-term success.
Expectations & Compensation:

Market Manager must attend at least one preseason Farmers Market meetings and assist with preseason vendor communications.

This position is paid in a $1700 stipend, to be distributed biweekly.
