Farmers Market Manager Role
Market Dates & Hours:
Wednesdays, June 3rd - September 23rd, 3PM - 6PM
The Market Manager is at the heart of the Sandwich Farmers Market each week, working closely with the Market Team to help bring the Village Green to life by coordinating vendors, volunteers, music, and all the moving pieces that make market day feel effortless and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities:

Primary Point of Contact - Be the friendly go to person for vendors, nonprofits, musicians, volunteers, and customers. Monitor the market email, coordinate weekly musicians and nonprofit highlights, and stay in regular contact with the Market Team to keep market operations clear and organized.

Market Set-Up & Breakdown - Help bring the Village Green to life each week! Oversee setup of vendor flags, signage, the music tent, community tables and chairs, and the information tent, also make sure everything is packed up and stored properly at the end of the day.

Volunteer Coordination - Work alongside volunteers and guide them through setup and breakdown tasks to keep market day running efficiently and safely.

Info Tent – Serve as a welcoming presence at the Information Tent throughout the market. Answer questions, collect donations or raffle entries, and help create a warm, organized hub for the community.

Vendor Fee Collection - Collect weekly vendor fees and manage MWVEG Food For All vouchers and SNAP transactions as applicable.

Flexibility & Teamwork - Markets are dynamic! Be ready to adapt, problem-solve, and work closely with the organizing team to ensure a successful and vibrant season.
Expectations & Compensation:

Attend at least one preseason market meeting with the Market Team for orientation, likely sometime in month of May.

Fulfill key responsibilities outlined above by attending each weekly market throughout the season, arriving for setup at 1:45pm and staying through clean up and breakdown, typically around 6:30pm.

This position is paid in a $1700 stipend, to be distributed biweekly.
